At this crucial stage of early childhood development, children and families needs to establish open lines of communication surrounding physicality and sexuality. Unless you feel comfortable discussing and exploring yourself and your child as a physical and sexual being, issues of safety and self-esteem are bound to arise. Marykate will discuss the importance of individualized body centered learning for children of all ages, specifically toddlers, and the use of yoga, anatomically correct dolls and children's literature to aid in the process.
BioAfter learning from and working with numerous populations of infants through adults as a teacher, residential counselor, case manager, caretaker and therapist, Marykate Smith-Despres founded Every Body Centered to serve children and adults with special needs and their families. Marykate provides behavior therapy, therapeutic yoga and sexuality education as well as supports for parents and siblings affected by Autism and other exceptionalities.
